Through our community groups, we provide older people and the elderly with access to sporting activities and the resources required to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Providing accessible activities for the community
The cost-of-living crisis is making it harder and harder for people to have a disposable income to support additional activities.
Working with health practitioners, community centres and other stakeholders in Durham and across the North East, we identify available funding to provide activities that are accessible for everyone in our community.

Promoting health, fitness and wellbeing
Staying active in body and mind has a huge impact on our physical and mental health – particularly when it comes to older people and the elderly, who we strongly believe should not be isolated from the community.
Our groups provide older adults and the elderly in our community with a range of opportunities to stay active, have fun learning and socialise.
Activities for all abilities
Our groups provide physical activities that are suitable for all levels of abilities, including care home residents and elderly members of our community.
The range of activities offered by our community groups include:
- Beginners strength and conditioning classes
- Beginners dance or seated dance low-impact exercise
- Bowls or new age curling
- Circuits
